Rear GardenPatio
Large-format riven stone laid across a rear garden, taking the usable space right out from the back of the house.
01 — The work
What we did
- Excavation and sub-base prepared across the full area
- Large-format riven natural stone laid to a set coursing pattern
- Falls set to move surface water away from the house
- Gravel margins run to the boundaries and planting edges
- Cuts, edges and joints finished and washed down
Large slabs are unforgiving: every joint is long enough to show a wander. The coursing was set out from the house wall so the pattern reads straight along the line you see it from most.
The result
A rear garden with a level, generous surface running out from the house — usable, and finished to the boundaries.
